Full Apartment Refurbishment – Pimlico / Victoria, London SW1
We recently completed a challenging and technically demanding full renovation of a period flat in the Pimlico/Victoria area of Central London. This project was exceptional in its structural complexity and required precise planning, experienced execution, and close collaboration with the client throughout.
Scope of Work:
- Demolition & Structural Modifications:
The project began with a full strip-out of the interior, including removal of internal walls, ceilings, and chimney structure. Our team carried out extensive wall reconfiguration and structural steel beam installations, turning what was once a tight, low-ceilinged layout into a modern, open-plan apartment with improved flow and natural light. - Ceiling & Wall Upgrades:
Acoustic insulation was added to all ceilings, followed by the fitting of fire-rated plasterboards and new timber structures. Old, cracked walls were reinforced using plaster mesh and then fully re-plastered for a flawless finish throughout. - Floor Reinforcement & Finishing:
Uneven flooring was carefully levelled and strengthened with plywood sheeting, ready for the installation of elegant parquet wood flooring across the apartment. - Bathroom Construction:
A new shower room was created using the SaniFlo system. Our team handled all tiling, waterproofing, plumbing, and finish plasterwork, delivering a fresh, highly functional space with modern detailing. - Carpentry, Finishes & Decoration:
We installed bespoke skirtings, cornices, and ceiling covings, followed by full interior decoration including walls, woodwork, and ceiling paint. A new front entrance door was fitted to complete the look. - Fireplace Rebuild & Stonework:
As part of the living room transformation, we designed and constructed a new stone fireplace, adding a timeless focal point that respects the property’s character.
Note: While Force Builders carried out extensive kitchen preparation and finishing work, stone kitchen countertops were installed by a third-party contractor.
The Result:
This renovation stands as one of our most structurally complex to date — a project that demanded not only technical ability, but adaptability and attention to every detail. The outcome is a stylish, spacious, and high-specification London apartment, transformed from a narrow, compartmentalised layout into a bright and open contemporary living space.
